HOW TO KNOW A CLASSIC WHEN YOU SEE IT
Classic clothing is timeless and ageless, allowing the wearer to
easily shift through the years without appearing dated. It is
essential that all individuals carry classic pieces in their
wardrobe and rely upon them regularly to look their best at all
times. Classic pieces of clothing enable the wearer to avoid any
passing fads or trends that quickly become the butt of jokes
instead of a true fashion statement. Such classic designs are
immediately recognized by anyone with fashion sense at heart. If
you are unaware what items of clothing are a classic, consider
the following categories:
1.) Timeless Style - Know what to look for in a classic
Pieces with timeless style are undeniably classic. Think of
items that can easily transfer over periods of time, through
different seasons and trends. Some items can seamlessly cross
through the fickle fashion trends, whereas others are clearly
unable of doing so. There is probably an item of clothing in
your closet right now that you have had for ages, and still
looks like a million bucks. These are the pieces you are
shooting to find, so keep a sharp eye out for item that fit into
the following categories:
2.) Timeless Color - Increase your fashion color I. Q.
Some colors are clearly fads. The 1950s had pink and turquoise,
the 1960s had oranges and green, the 1980s had anything with the
word "electric" or "neon" preceding the name, and the 1990s
had
pastel tones. Timeless colors are those that never waiver from
the normal, and therefore never go out of style. Usually,
neutral tones are considered timeless, but the ultimate timeless
color is black. You know how everyone says a fad color is the
new black? Pink is the new black, brown is the new black, zebra
print is the new black. The truth is, black is the new black and
you can never go wrong! Other neutrals, gray, tan, white, and
even navy are other options.
3.) Timeless Age - Fashions that never go out of style
If a piece is truly timeless, then it can be worn by every age
of individual. Those pieces that look just as great on a 20 year
old woman as they do on a 50 year old woman should be
immediately snapped up. Although your shape and size may change
over the years, the look of this clothing will never change.
Whether it is a simple A-line skirt, a lovely cashmere sweater
set, a smart looking button down starched shirt, or a
professional two- or three-button blazer, find this piece of
clothing and stick with it!
